DuoDanube Bratislava, SK • Two CACIBs for Betty Boop
Overwhelming majority of Frenchies, who met and competed at the sultry racecourse in Bratislava-Petrzalka on 20-21 Aug 2011, came from the Czech and Slovak Republics. The only exceptions were Petra Kemetzhofer, an Austrian lady, and Michal Tarapacz, who came with three Frenchies from Poland. Our
Daddy's Boy and
Dalila (M. Saulichová) performed only in-and-outer but the shining star was our
Betty Boop, who won CACIBs in both days. Moreover, she met the last requirement to be awarded the Slovak Champion title already by getting the first CAC on Saturday!

SATURDAY 20 AUG 2011 • Mown but longer grass forced Frenchies more onto playful gallop than elegant trot and some of them lost the chance for better placement due to that. Despite of it, Petr Řehánek was judging and criticizing faults with smile and goodness. Junior Champion Store Linde's Kleos le Regal (J. Kreplová), later Best of Breed (BOB), and our multichampion
Betty Boop Anima Canis were Frenchies he found most interesting to be awarded CACIB. Reserve CACIB received fawn male Edgar iz Palevych Buldogov (H. Pešátová) and female Meggy Srdce Evropy (L. Čamek). Domestic Slovak exhibitors vere not very successful; young male Daidalos Heraklion-Ally (Ľ. Karvayová) was the only home class winner. The second CAJC was awarded to female Mini Bohemia Hapet (L. Sosnová). The last CAC has got female Coco Chanel Pontifex Maximus (M. Tarapacz).

SUNDAY 21 AUG 2011 • Grass in Sunday ring was shorter but the heat was even bigger. Number of entered Frenchies was surprisingly lower than on Saturday, what might be caused by the judge as well. Viera Vítková, a reputable breeder of American Cocker-Spaniels (
ChS Fly Mystery) living both in Italy and Slovakia, judged French bulldogs few times in Italy and San Marino but was quite unknown for Czech and Slovak exhibitors. She liked most the brindle male Alatyr Noix Slavic Storm (M. Srnka/M. Páleníková) and awarded both CACIB and later also BOB titles to him. The second CACIB received again our
Betty Boop. Reserve CACIB were awarded to the same Frenchies - male Edgar iz Palevych Buldogov (H. Pešátová) and female Meggy Srdce Evropy (L. Čamek) - as on Saturday. The same juniors as a day before, male Daidalos Heraklion-Ally (Ľ. Karvayová) and female Mini Bohemia Hapet (L. Sosnová), succeeded in Junior Class again. The last class winner, female Coco Chanel Pontifex Maximus (M. Tarapacs), didn't change as well.
