SDS Diedersdorf, D • Proud of Second Place
Seventyfive from eighty entered French bulldogs met in Diedersdorf Castle on Saturday, 2 April 2011. Why so many? Victor Alexander van Raamsdonk, a reputable international judge from Belgium and above all founder and owner of legendary De la Parure kennel, came to judge Frenchies in Germany after many years again. Our
Daddy's Boy was fighting for class primacy in competition of 6 males from 4 countries for a long time but he finally truckled to Ukrainian male Diesel House Taddy of Danish owner K. Hansen. Nevertheless, second place and nice judgement from V. A. van Raamsdonk made us as happy as winning at another time.

French bulldogs came to Diedersdorf from 6 countries. Most numerous were 51 Frenchies of German owners (68 %) but by seven Frenchies came from Denmark and Poland, six from Netherlands and by two from Belgium and Czech Republic. Czech colors were represented by our
Daddy's Boy and his sister
Dalila. Judge V. A. van Raamsdonk probably wanted to show his judgements are neither hasty nor causeless. When it was 6 p.m. and judging was still in gear, even well disciplined Germans became short of smiles and enthusiasm.

Six from eight (62,5 %) winners of adult and junior classes were of German owners but only three (37,5 %) of German origin as well. Club CAC (corresponding to Show Winner or Best Male and/or Female) was awarded to female A'Vigdors Brevi Manu of Danish owner A.-M. Nielsen and male A'Vigdors Bravache of German owner D. Mieth; Bravache later became the Best of Breed (BOB) as well. However both might be supposed to come from the same litter, their dates of birth differ of 10 months. A'Vigdors Bravache seems to be a very active male in his age of 3 years - 6 offsprings from 5 different litters sired by him were present in show.

Our Dalila was shown in Open Class in competition of 12 females, who were stepwise outsorted from the ring. She left among last five but finaly got Excellent without placement. From 68 Frenchies in adult and junior classes, 47 were graded Excelent, 19 Very Good and 2 Good.

V. A. van Raamsdonk should be judging the international dog show in Leipzig in summer, what might be interesting for many Frenchie breeders and owners from abroad. See
www.vdh.de for information about the summer show.
