DuoCACIB Brno, CZ • Day One, Full of Surprise
The Double CACIB in Brno, an official dog show of the CMKU (The Czech-Moravian Cynological Union), turns steadily to a prestigious event. More than 4,000 dogs met at Brno Exhibition Centre just on Saturday. Our kennel achieved only an average success on Saturday but generally it was a day full of surprise – both pleasant and unpleasant.
The first one, definitively unpleasant, was completely poor organization of incoming exhibitors upon arrival. One-hour time reserve had changed to a frantic run to the ring after 75 minutes spent in cue in front of one of the most expensive fair parking lots in Europe (CZK 180, cca EUR 7). Should we had to show a puppy or young male, we’d missed it. Furthermore, French bulldogs were moved to another ring and hall on Saturday, so that emotions were quickly rising up.

The reason for change was absence of Mr. Revaz Khomasuridze, the partially impatiently awaited, partially feared reputable judge from Russia. Exhibitors so lost the opportunity to get a judgment from this well-known French bulldog breeder (A’Vigdors Kennel). On the other hand, his absence cleared a conflict of interest suspicion. Female A'Vigdors Idee Fixe was entered in Champion Class under the name of another owner (handler) but is permanently listed among own females of A’Vigdors Kennel at Mr. Khomasuridze’s website. It must be added three ladies rotated as the catalogue owners of this female in shows in last 12 months – probably in dependence on actual handling. Question about the real owner was reasonably in spotlight.
The surrogate judge, Mr. M. Raba, judged frenchies with conscience, however he still had to judge several other breeds in the same ring. CACIBs were finally awarded to female Baccara Elita z Udolia Vtacnik (P. Bartosikova) and male Fredy Mercury Kaul (J. Klauzova). Fredy consequently became the Best of Breed as well. Favorite female Amy Sunny Bitt Box (J. Matuska) had to settle for res. CACIB this time, favorite male Crazy Feeling Dionisio (L. Sosnová) even only for CAC, while CACIB was awarded to male Dagwood od Stribrnaku (L. & P. Slauf).

Female A'Vigdors Idee Fixe, a multi-champion and 2009 Junior European Winner from Dublin, surprisingly almost disappointed most of present breeders. She looked young and immature in her age of 21 months and seemed to loose weight compared with her official pictures published at A’Vigdors website. Nevertheless, she is a very vital and corky female what’s just the right and most important thing by frenchies, despite they are champions or not. Our
Betty Boop finally prevailed against her in the Champion Class but the judge was satisfied neither with one of both champions and awarded no CAC in this class.

A'Vigdors Don de la Nature (J. Matuška), a young male from the same kennel, shown himself much better in the Young Class and became the Junior BOB by right.
Blackie Anima Canis (J. Klauzová) placed the 2nd in the Open Class and has got the Res. CAC.
